This port city is located on the Atlantic Ocean and is one of the largest metropolitan areas in its country. It gets its name from the stone reefs found by the city’s shores.

Its Historic Center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and boasts over 20 museums, nearly 40 art galleries and 2 Orchestra houses.

Due to the city’s proximity to the equator, the weather is generally warm. Here you will find numerous islands, rivers, waterways and bridges that intersect with the city and which gave it the nickname of the “Venice” of its country.
